Simply Slip Stitch. This book takes the mysteries out of Slip Stitch knitting. It begins with the basics and works systematically through each topic. It explains what slip stitch means, and how it is operated on each of the major makes of knitting machine: using slip buttons or levers, with punch cards, mylar sheets, electronic keys, etc. It discusses equipment that is employed in slip stitch knitting, including weights and color changers. It advises on the choice of yarn, and tensions to suit different stitch patterns. It describes the most important types of slip stitch patterns: purl side slip stitch, maze and mosaic slip stitch, multi-color slip stitch, and ruched or textured slip stitch; and how to design and make patterns in each of these types. It explains how to use slip stitch to produce decorative edgings and braids.
